Personal data notice under Turkey’s KVKK

Controller: Ahmet Yasir Demir, providing Namaz Vakti under the Ghaith Labs name. Contact dydemiryasir@gmail.com for information and requests about app processing. This notice provides information; it is not a consent declaration or advertising permission.

Methods and scope: You enter the optional name and personal worship records that are stored locally. With permission, iOS supplies location; manual place information comes from your selection. Online prayer-time and Quran requests disclose IP addresses and technical request information to their providers. Advertising services may automatically process app/device identifiers, approximate location, ad/app interactions and diagnostics. Support correspondence provides contact and message information.

Purposes: Provide requested prayer-time, Qibla and reading features; keep preferences and worship progress locally; operate the notifications, widgets, watch and backup features you select; deliver and measure ads; maintain security, diagnose errors and respond to requests. Local personal worship records are not sent to our servers for ad targeting.

Recipients and transfers: AlAdhan receives location/calculation requests; AlQuran Cloud receives surah/edition requests. Google AdMob and participating advertising providers may process advertising data. Optional device features involve Apple services, support involves communication services, and exports involve recipients you choose. Transfers to overseas providers must separately satisfy KVKK Article 9; device or advertising permission is not itself a transfer safeguard. Details follow below.

Legal grounds: Where necessary to provide your requested service, KVKK Article 5/2(c) may apply; security and request-management interests subject to your fundamental rights fall under 5/2(f); establishment, exercise or protection of rights under 5/2(e); and compliance with legal obligations under 5/2(ç). Where no applicable condition exists and explicit consent is required, it must be obtained under Article 5/1. Your request to keep optional worship records locally does not permit unrelated or server-side processing. Special-category data is additionally subject to Article 6. iOS permissions or reading this notice do not replace any separately required explicit consent.

Rights: Under KVKK Article 11, you may ask whether data is processed, obtain information about its use and recipients, request correction or deletion/destruction where conditions apply and notification to relevant recipients, object to an adverse result based solely on automated analysis and seek compensation for unlawful processing. Request methods are described in “Rights and requests” below. Without an account service, we cannot remotely access records kept only on your device.

1. Overview

Namaz Vakti provides prayer times, Qibla, Quran reading, dhikr and personal worship records. No account is required; entering a greeting name is optional. Personal records stay on your device. Online prayer-time/content requests and Google AdMob advertising involve processing by third parties.

We therefore do not make a blanket claim that the app collects no data. Advertising data and records processed only on your device are distinguished below.

2. Personal records on your device

Your optional name, dhikr counters, prayer and missed-prayer records, Quran completion progress and bookmarks, selected location, downloaded content and prayer caches, notification and appearance preferences are stored on your device. Worship records may reveal religious beliefs. We do not provide a server-side user profile, product analytics service or cloud sync for those records.

We do not add your name, personal worship records or GPS coordinates to advertising requests. Apple device backups may include app data according to your settings. Keeping a name or worship record on your device does not mean we collect it on a server.

3. Location and prayer times

With iOS location permission, GPS latitude and longitude are sent to AlAdhan to obtain local prayer times. Qibla is calculated on your device. Apple geocoding may identify a place name and time zone. Location may be checked when you open or return to the app; we do not continuously track location in the background.

You can select a place manually without location permission and revoke permission in iOS Settings. Manual selection still sends the selected place’s reference information to the prayer service; it is an alternative to using your device’s GPS position.

AlAdhan receives your IP address, submitted coordinates and calculation parameters. The provider has described some retention for security/monitoring, short-lived operational use and traffic forecasting. Whether GPS coordinates specifically are retained and the exact retention periods have not been verified from public information. We do not promise that transmitted data is never retained or is automatically deleted when you uninstall the app.

4. Content and optional device features

Quran text and translations are requested from AlQuran Cloud using surah and edition identifiers and can be cached locally. The provider receives your IP address and request information. Bundled daily readings and the local place directory do not require transmitting personal worship records.

Prayer reminders are local notifications scheduled with permission. The compass uses device direction sensors. Saving a reading image requests permission to add to Photos without reading your photo library. Enabled widgets and watch features may share prayer times, a place name and theme through app-group storage and a paired Apple Watch.

Backup export/import, saving an image and copying to the clipboard are initiated by you. Backup files are not separately encrypted by the app and can contain worship records. A service you choose to receive a file, image or text applies its own data practices.

5. Advertising and privacy choices

Google AdMob provides banner ads. Google explains that its advertising services may process IP addresses and derived approximate location, app-/publisher-/device-scoped identifiers, ad impressions and interactions, app interactions, crash and performance information. Purposes include ad delivery and measurement, service analytics, security, fraud prevention and diagnostics. Google and providers participating in ad delivery may process this information.

The app does not operate an integration intended to track you by combining your activity across other companies’ apps and websites and does not request ATT permission to access IDFA. Advertising still involves data processing, and app- or publisher-scoped identifiers may be used. Ad delivery depends on your region, permissions and applicable advertising-service settings.

Google’s User Messaging Platform presents advertising privacy messages and choices where required. Ads are requested after the SDK’s eligibility check. Declining ad personalization does not necessarily disable all advertising; non-personalized or limited ads may remain eligible.

Where the provider offers a privacy form for your region, reopen it through Settings → Advertising privacy choices. Granting location permission or watching an ad is not a condition of access to the basic prayer-time and reading tools. UMP privacy choices and Apple ATT authorization are separate controls.

6. Purposes, legal grounds and recipients

Processing supports the features you request, local preferences, prayer-time/content requests, ads, security and support. Depending on applicable law, grounds may include necessity to provide the service, legitimate interests in security and request management, legal obligations or your consent where required. Permission-dependent uses are subject to device or advertising privacy choices.

Recipients include Google advertising services and participating ad partners, AlAdhan, AlQuran Cloud and Apple services you use. Sharing/backup services you select and email services used for support may also receive information. If you email us, we process your address, message and attachments to respond. Avoid sending unnecessary location or worship records.

Providers may process information outside your country. We require services receiving shared data to meet applicable data-protection obligations and standards equivalent to the protection described here. We do not promise a particular processing country, audit certification or universal retention period for every provider. We do not sell or share your personal worship records for ad targeting.

7. Retention, deletion and withdrawing permission

Local records and caches may remain until you change them or delete the relevant app data. iOS “Delete App” removes its app-container data; offloading may retain it. Shared widget/watch copies, device backups, Photos, clipboard content and exported files must be managed separately. You can disable sharing in the app’s settings.

Revoke location, notification and Photos permissions in iOS Settings and manage advertising choices as described above. Withdrawal does not recall previously transmitted information or automatically delete provider records. Google and content-provider records follow their service terms and applicable obligations.

We retain support correspondence only as needed to resolve requests, manage related disputes and meet applicable legal obligations, then delete or de-identify it. We do not promise a fixed deletion deadline for records outside our control.

8. Rights and requests

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to information, access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability and consent withdrawal, including applicable rights under Turkey’s KVKK and the EEA’s GDPR. You can complain to your competent data-protection authority.

For questions or help with a request, email the contact above with the subject “Namaz Vakti — KVKK request” and its scope. Statutory requests must follow KVKK Article 13 and the applicable request-procedure communiqué; email requests should use an address previously supplied to us and recorded in our systems. Identity checks are limited and proportionate. Properly submitted KVKK requests are resolved as soon as possible and within 30 days. If this is your first contact, we can help identify an appropriate request method. Without an account service, we cannot remotely access records kept only on your device. Other jurisdictions’ applicable deadlines and remedies remain unaffected.

9. Children and policy changes

Namaz Vakti is not offered as a dedicated children’s service or an Apple Kids Category app. Parental/legal-guardian supervision and applicable permission requirements apply where necessary. Contact us if you believe a child’s information has been processed improperly so we can review records under our control and provider-request options.

We update this policy and its date when data practices change, with in-app notice or additional consent where required for material changes. Updating a policy does not itself provide consent for a new use that requires permission.
